IN BETWEEN THE SHEETS AND MY MIND
‘PIECES OF ME’
SERIES PART 1
Creativity runs wild and it is hard to restricted or even know from which directions it’s coming, the only times I become aware of the exchange between my head and my soul is when I am completely quiet and still. Still enough to track the randomness of my thoughts unbroken communication that crowds the stillness I seek. Once the randomness is out, the live thought falls so flawlessly into place. Which is why a lot of my work happens in bed, strolling down my city, riding the bus with the vast array of personalities. Everything seems more beautiful through the lens of the observer. Catching a mere glimpse into someone else’s life is gold! It’s what we all seek flipping through magazines, channel surfing, encountering a great plot in the latest film release. We are all obsessed with having even if it’s just a mere glimpse at the other side.
It’s so magical to be able to imagine your life to resemble that of a fairytale even if it’s just a figment of the imagination. We crave the experience even if it’s a vicarious life we’ve created for ourselves. People watching is just as such, derived by curiosity and confronted with the truth. It is a beautiful thing to be able to watch people in their natural state and I say this because our society has enforced the need for approval to the extent that our constant editing has left our self image plain and numb, unable to decipher what being ‘real’ means. Even when we seek human connection we replace it with virtual stimulation through technology. Still disparate to unedited, uncensored, unapologetic behavior. This I find beautiful, unique, real, raw; we seek this we want this because this is who we are meant to be. Remaining free to express our unique personality that extends to the fibers of everything that makes us human. By the way we talk, walk, do our hair, style we choose, friends we surround ourselves, family, fur babie’s, our emotions; it all derives from the individuality that pertains to only you. That is why I write at my most intimate moments about life taboo’s, to be able to remain free in my creative mind. To see through the lens of humanities beauty at its raw state, that is our purest form.
